Great success of the 1st Occupational Health and Safety Forum organized by Impulsa | NewAlcarria

Impulsa Guadalajara held this Friday, at the Accelera by Cummins facilities, the 1st Occupational Health and Safety forum of the province of Guadalajara. An event that is part of the European Week for Safety and Health at Work and that highlights the commitment of the members of Impulsa Guadalajara for active and participatory management of safety and health in the workplace by of all parties involved, workers and employers.

Along these lines, the president of CEOE-CEPYME Guadalajara, Marisol García, has proudly highlighted “the good work of the collaborating institutions in the Impulsa Guadalajara project to celebrate this first edition of the occupational health and safety forum, in which she hopes that “Do not be the last, because it is very enriching for everyone.”

David Heredero, plant director Electrolysers Spain at Accelera by Cummins, welcomed those present at the company’s facilities, highlighting that “the safety factor is maximum in your company, since we define a whole series of parameters so that the safety of all employees is maximum, also highlighting the importance not only of physical but also mental health.”

The general secretary of CCOO in Guadalajara, Javier Morales, has highlighted “the necessary union representation in companies, with an external Prevention service, also highlighting not only the risks; but also to put in a positive light those who comply with the safety and health regulations in the province to reduce accidents.”

For her part, Elena Cañeque, deputy delegate of Digital Administration, has stressed the importance of forums like this to take experiences and examples of good practices that are being carried out in the province and draw conclusions, since “protecting workers is protect us all.”

Finally, José Luis Escudero, provincial delegate of the Community Board of Castilla-La Mancha, has noted that “from the regional government, occupational health and safety is the responsibility of all parties to provide more resources for everyone, focusing on preventive culture. with programs such as “Safer Castilla-La Mancha”. “We will continue to invest in investment projects in facilities and equipment that improve the health and safety conditions of workplaces.”

After the institutional inauguration, the first of the conferences took place that focused on the “Best ORP practices at Accelera by Cummins”, given by the ORP and Environment Manager at Accelera by Cummins, César Rodriguez, who highlighted the EHS strategy that consists of addressing issues such as “health and safety culture, empowering people, safe workplaces, where employees and the environment are the center, since the great challenge of your company is to integrate the health and safety strategy in all business decisions and actions.”

Next, the conference on “The importance of preventive culture at Adeo Logistics Iberia” took place, given by Julián Barrasa, Human Transformation Leader Supply Chain LME, who stressed that his company is committed to creating a future in a positive way, “ a dynamic space where there is human warmth, as we promote a state of physical, emotional and social well-being, in such a way that there is a commitment to the safety of all through the figure of “safety heroes” defining principles and values ​​to consolidate behavior integrates ethics and responsibility.”

This forum concluded with a round table entitled “Success stories and good practices in Occupational Risk Prevention”, moderated by Ernesto Guzmán, ORP technician at CEOE-CEPYME Guadalajara. This table has had the participation of Ana Narváez, head of ORP at Adeo Logistics Iberia, David Heredero, plant director Electrolysers Spain at Accelera by Cummins, Álvaro Sanz, ORP technician at UGT Guadalajara, Ana Blázquez, secretary of Occupational Health of the Provincial union of CCOO Guadalajara and Francisco Herraíz, head of the Occupational Health and Safety service of the EEE Department of the JCCM in Guadalajara. All participants have agreed to highlight that “there is still much to do in the province of Guadalajara to stop being the province with the highest workplace accidents in Spain, but to do so, more practical preventive training activities should be carried out, as the new companies that are doing so are doing. “They are arriving, integrating the ORP plans of the companies in all people.” In turn, all the speakers have highlighted that “periodic controls must be carried out in the facilities regarding occupational health and safety in companies, since an effort must be made by everyone because another model of doing things is possible. In conclusion, “we must renew ourselves, addressing new challenges such as the gender approach, aging and age management at work. Psychosocial risks are already integrated into the company since the pandemic and we are delving into the use of new technologies to improve occupational health and safety conditions.”

Impulsa Guadalajara is a project promoted by CEOE-CEPYME Guadalajara, the Provincial Council, the Guadalajara City Council, the Community Board of Castilla-La Mancha, CCOO and UGT.
