Ólvega’s PSOE shows its concern about the situation at the Health Center

The socialists of Ólvega have shown their concern about the situation of lack of professionals that is being registered in the town’s Health Center. In the last municipal plenary session held, the spokesperson for the Municipal Socialist Group, Montse Tello, expressed the concern that exists among the residents of Olvega due to the situation that is being repeated very frequently” of a lack of doctors that results in an increase in the loads work for his colleagues by having to attend to more patients in their consultations. Currently there are problems with the coverage of all the doctor positions at the health center and for this reason, the government team was urged to “be more demanding with the Junta de Castilla y León, we must look for solutions and we offer ourselves to work jointly when it comes to putting pressure,” the socialist spokesperson stressed, “we cannot be satisfied with the official version of the Ministry of Health that there are no doctors, what we must pursue is that these positions are attractive and look for professionals to choose Ólvega as their work destination.” This is not the first time that the lack of professionals in the Olvegan health center has been highlighted. A few months ago, the reduction in daily consultations in the pediatric service was reported, “the situation is not improving, we need solutions for the entire area.” of care that this health center covers,” Tello stressed.

The quality of life of the residents was debated at length in the last Olvega plenary session when the need to provide the municipality with a municipal ordinance that regulates possible air, light or noise pollution was once again reiterated. It is one of the most reiterated demands by the Municipal Socialist Group, which has expressed numerous times the need to approve municipal regulations and provide devices (such as measuring antennas) that analyze episodes of bad odors or emissions into the environment that have been detected in the locality. In this sense, the socialist spokesperson insisted that “we are not alarmists, it is an issue with which we are committed, it is a health issue and one of the complaints that neighbors bring to us the most, we have to guarantee air quality, it is one of the pending issues on which we must continue working from the city council.” Thanks to this regulation that has been requested again, the installation of new companies or livestock facilities could be regulated. On the other hand, the socialists also recalled that in 2022 the Portuguese Simoldes Group announced the opening of a factory in the Emiliano Revilla industrial estate, contemplating an investment of 45 million euros and the creation of up to 200 jobs. Two years later, the mayor herself has acknowledged that she has no news about how this business project is progressing. The Socialist Group once again criticized the lack of transparency that the government team has with certain issues and regretted that “the opposition has to know about some decisions that are made on the street, through the mouths of neighbors, as has recently happened with the awarding the management of the early childhood education center.”

In the plenary session, the PSOE requested a reinforcement of road safety measures for the crossing that cause a reduction in vehicle speed. In the previous legislature, at the proposal of the socialists, bumps were installed at the entrances to the urban area, “but they are not being as effective as we expected, that is why it is proposed to place traffic lights that warn about the speed at which people are traveling as “It has been done in other locations.” Likewise, Montse Tello also demanded greater control of motorized vehicles in the Ólvega mountain range, since “the misuse of trails is deteriorating and eroding certain areas.”

The Socialist Municipal Group has requested the installation of a calisthenics park in response to the demand conveyed by the residents of Muro. The proposal that was detailed is that the elements be installed in the leisure area of Calle las Eras, completing the already existing playground.

In the plenary session of requests, it was requested that more time be dedicated to cleaning the streets of the neighborhoods furthest from the center and that more trash cans be placed. Given the reform that the Adult Education Center is undergoing, it was urged that the “essence of these facilities not be lost and that they continue to be units dedicated to training and not be used for other purposes due to lack of premises municipal”. Finally, the discontent of the Muro celebrations commission was expressed when it did not receive a response from the Ólvega city council for the installation of a purple point for its August festivities while part of the funds from the State of Violence Pact have been spent. of Gender in the Outdoor Painting Contest whose theme had nothing to do with this issue and there are projects and initiatives in this sense on which to spend this state subsidy.
