Faema recognizes the work of people and entities for mental health

Faema Mental Health Ávila will celebrate the fifth edition of its awards next Thursday, October 24, at 6 p.m. in the auditorium of the Higher Polytechnic School of Ávilawith the aim of raising awareness among the population and making visible good practices in favor of people with mental health problems.

For the granting of these awards, the entity has established different categories:

Category of people:

Jesus Garcia Muñoz. Former vice president of Faema and representative of the committee in first person of Faema at the provincial level and in the CyL Mental Health Federation. He is characterized by his overwhelming, empathetic and constructive personality. He raised the voice of people with mental health problems when there was a great stigma in society.

Jorge Pérez García. Member of Faema. An example of generosity and involvement with the entity’s services and especially in rural areas. Made a donation of €25,000 that facilitated the purchase of a vehicle for the delegation of The Adrada This contribution being more than 50% of the total cost (€47,000).

Juan Ignacio Ayuela Ruiz. Civil Guard from the Arévalo post. Person very involved with solidarity actions of both Faema as with other social entities. Impeller for the collection of caps in the area of Arevalo and surrounding towns in favor of the Faema special employment center since the beginning of the activity. In addition, he participated in a meeting of professionals organized by the entity to raise awareness about volunteer actions and the importance of employment for people with disabilities.

Entity category:

Neighborhood Association of Alamedilla del Berrocal. An association involved with the entity in making it participate in its cultural, Christmas and summer weeks. University of Salamanca. The collaboration comes from the beginning of the entity, creating internship collaboration agreements for its students, providing opportunities for students to raise awareness and gain experience in an inclusive environment. There are several initiatives from the University that have earned them this award, such as the project UniverUSALwhose goal is to promote an accessible and equitable university for all. Also highlight your commitment as a client of the special employment center of Faemasupporting the labor integration of people with disabilities and the organization of the University Welcome Fairwhere Faema has the opportunity to install an information stand, promoting the visibility of its activities and services.

Caixabank. Close and trusted entity where Faema has an ally when it comes to continuing to grow in projects that need financial support, in addition to supporting social initiatives such as investment projects, donation of office furniture or supporting the children’s and youth project in which 100 young people and children from Ávila and the province are served.

Ávila Foundation. Entity that has been a friend of Faema for years, accompanying us in the financing of different varied social projects and altruistically giving up its spaces to carry out solidarity events or meetings of professionals that promote environments of participation and sharing experiences.

FASCYL (Foundation of Support and Social Action of Castilla y León). It serves those people with disabilities who have more support needs. Currently in Avila 19 people with disabilities are cared for in a coordinated manner. It is an example of effective and efficient work where people’s attention is valued. A service adapted to the needs of each person served is provided. These people are mainly in supervised Faema housing or in their homes with the support of personal assistance. Fascyl professionals tour our province with Faema professionals so that the life project of the most vulnerable people becomes a reality.

Media Category:

Cope Ávila. They highlight the visibility and respect for news linked to issues of mental health and for helping to spread the work that is being done at Faema. It is a way to reach the general population and to see in a natural way the need to ask for support and not feel stigmatized.

The media will always be an ally of social entities due to the way they transmit the news, especially based on respect and empathy towards people.

Entrepreneurs Category:

Santi Moya Insurance. They highlight their commitment to the employment of people with disabilities, having hired the cleaning service for their offices, promoting regional professional meetings in the restaurant. The Sheltermaking donations of materials such as blood pressure monitors for the people we serve in our supervised homes and in centers. This has been an important step to implement preventive measures in health care. He has also given talks on insurance advice and was one of the promoters of the candidacy of Faema Employment at the national awards Generali.

Divine Sanchez. Thanks to Jorge Sanchezcompany manager, it was possible to purchase a Transcranial Electrical Stimulator whose value was €5,500. The company made a donation of €3,000, which made its acquisition easier. This machine is mainly used in the physiotherapy service, allowing Faema to offer advanced and effective therapies, significantly improving the well-being of the people they serve.

Administration Category:

In this category Faema wanted to recognize the work of different administrations that have made it possible for Faema to continue investing in the care of people in any corner of Avila and its province.

Sotalbo Town Hall. It has counted on Faema to carry out camps for years during the months of July and August. They are aimed at minors from the town and those who enjoy days of rest in a rural environment. This activity promotes family conciliation, provides a recreational space and encourages emotional well-being activities through play. In addition, town monitors are hired, promoting youth employment.

Provincial Council of Ávila. For their support in social projects in the province such as the purchase of a tablet that allowed the elderly and people with disabilities to communicate with their families during the pandemic. Carried out disinfections of supervised homes and entity vehicles that allowed safer care when vaccines did not exist.

He has been a pioneer in signing a collaboration agreement to support the children’s and youth project that allows us to serve young people and children in the province by offering psychological care.

Junta of Castilla y León. They state that over the years, the Junta de Castilla y León has demonstrated a firm and constant commitment in the social field, facilitating the inclusion of people with disabilities in all aspects of daily life. At the labor level, it has promoted initiatives that favor integration in the labor market, facilitating job insertion and supporting protected and adapted employment.

In the health field, its effort to guarantee access to specialized health services adapted to the needs of people with disabilities has been fundamental. In the educational area, the Board has promoted positive mental health and child and youth prevention, ensuring that each person, regardless of their abilities, can receive quality education under equal conditions.

In addition, they especially value the Board’s commitment to equality, working to eliminate barriers and create a more equitable society, where opportunities and rights are guaranteed for all.

The Junta de Castilla y León has promoted funding for both the special employment center of Faema as well as the entity through different projects linked to employment, personal assistance, centers, supervised housing, promoting hiring, investments, among others, which makes it worthy of this award.
