Recently, clinical psychologists have carried out a ‘pilot’ group intervention in the Pulmonology service, with very satisfactory results for the professionals who have participated. In this session, attendees worked on tools to strengthen communication and interpersonal relationships, emotional regulation and stress management, aspects that are fundamental due to the characteristics of job performance based on the helping relationship and high job demands.

The head of the Mental Health service, Juan López Castillohas emphasized that “safe and healthy work environments can act as a protective factor for people’s mental health, hence the importance of reducing stressors in the workplace, awareness and training can help create spaces healthier and more inclusive.”

The head of the Mental Health block, Ángela Ruiz, encourages hospital professionals to participate in the extra-work activities included in the Humanization Plan, which, as she points out, “are provided by the hospital itself and promote personal well-being and, therefore, “improve physical and mental health”

The Granada hospital is committed to measures that protect and support Mental Health at work, in line with the World Health Organization, the prevention of psychosocial risks, the protection of mental health at work and support for people with mental health problems so that they can work and thrive in their daily work. To this end, this large team organizes activities aimed at patients with different disorders to improve their reintegration and work adaptation that are carried out from different devices such as therapeutic communities and day hospitals.

Humanization for the union of professionals

From the Nursing area, the head of the Mental Health block, Ángela Ruizencourages hospital professionals to participate in the extra-work activities included in the Humanization Plan, which, as it points out, “are provided by the hospital itself and promote personal well-being and, therefore, improve physical and mental health.”

The most significant projects that have become a link of belonging to the institution and a meeting point with other colleagues are a choir, which, in addition to rehearsing weekly, performs at the hospital’s main events and offers recitals to patients and professionals, and, most recently, a theater group. Tai chi sessions have also been consolidated with weekly workshops.
